The 5th EEDAL conference was successful.

Opening Speech of State Secretary Jochen Homann from the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology

From June 16 – 18, 2009 the 5th International Conference on Energy Efficiency in Domestic Appliances and Lighting – “The biggest EEDAL so far” (Paolo Bertoldi) – took place in Berlin. More than 130 scientific papers were presented. About 300 international experts for energy efficiency from the political arena, industry, science and associations discussed and debated the latest developments and tomorrow’s strategies in the energy efficiency of household appliances and lighting, heating and cooling equipment, information and communication technology and consumer electronics. The perspective was global and participants came from 24 countries from all continents of the world. Even in this year this important highly international event provided a unique forum to share both knowledge and experiences, and create a basis for a constructive exchange.

The 5th EEDAL was organized by the German Energy Agency (dena) – and was supported by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi), with content-related support from the European Commission.

The German Energy Agency (dena), as organizer, wants to thank all attendees for their interesting and enlightening contributions that makes the conference such a success! We hope to see you again on the next EEDAL conference which  takes place in May 2011 in Copenhagen (DK).
